During lockdown, buildings and places we love took on a whole new purpose. From our homes that became safe havens in a storm of chaos, to our beloved local pubs and restaurants who had to close their doors to us.
These are a few of the personal commissions I made for friends and family, as a way of celebrating their own special space.
Brew+Tucker are a coffee shop/cafe based in Frodsham, who bring the quality and flavours of the Australian coffee culture into the heart of Cheshire. They asked me to create their menus and a set of unique illustrations to hang as prints around the shop, to help explain who they are.

Character development and storyboards for animated videos. These videos were used as part of an people-centred internal training program for Westpac Australia. Working from a voiceover script, I create easy-to-digest illustrations to help engagement and understanding.

Illustration work for an ongoing project with NHS Bolton. Creating a set of characters to represent local patients and staff as well as some well-known Bolton landmarks. Most recently I was asked to bring all these together into one larger scene, which will be used across various print and online communications.
15 or so years ago, I started creating portraits of friends and family to give as birthday cards. Since then I’ve been asked to create characters for wedding stationery, football teams, Christenings, as well as large group family portraits. In April 2008 I entered Billabong's European “Design For Humanity” art contest. The brief asked for a t shirt design that illustrated the fusion of creativity and solidarity.
Unfortunately I didn't win. But I'm still proud of my typographical submission.
